Earth Season - Late Summer

Subtle changes are starting to happen around you. Fruits are ripe, summer is softening.

The mornings feel crisper. We have entered the transitional phase, the energy of the Earth element, the season of late summer.

 A pause before the Fall.

This season embodies transition, nourishment, receiving, digesting, stability, grounding and integrating. It is a time of balance and reflection. A time of deepening one's relationship with the earth. Through integrative lifestyle practices we cultivate a connection with the earth, nurturing our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We must prioritize the time to slow down and care for ourselves in the same way the earth nourishes life.

During this season we reflect on our growth and transformations, preparing for a new cycle and rest and recovery of the coming seasons. When we release and reflect we are better able to align ourselves with the forces of nature and universe, cultivate a better connection with life and ultimately our purpose in daily joy. This is the time to stabilize, center, and prepare to bloom.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the earth element is connected to the spleen, pancreas and stomach. These are the organs of digestion and nutrition. By tending to our relationship with these organs we are able to restore balance. This season is the transition from Yang - hot energy to Yin - cool energy, the exhale after a Yang summer bringing Yin coolness through stability, reflection and integration.

The late summer Earth season is associated with the emotions of worry and overthinking. When we are not balanced we may feel increased rumination, caring for others over ourselves, feeling scattered, mental heaviness, and pouring from an empty cup. By implementing lifestyle well-being practices you are able to come back to yourself, release harmful expectations, and cultivate a safe and balanced sense of Self.

During the Earth season reflect:

What would happen if I let myself be supported right now?

What is nourishing me?

What am I struggling to digest?

Where am I giving more than receiving?

What helps me return to center?
